|
Regional Councillor John Sanderson has spear headed what is being called The Great Pumpkin Party from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday November 1st, in front of the Rose Theatre.
The event is to give the residents of Brampton a chance to show off their pumpkins, light them one last time and then have them taken away for composting instead of having them end up as waste.
Should be a great time and we're looking forward to seeing the membership there!

Excelsiors Pee Wee 2's win Gold!! |
|
The Brampton
Pee Wee 2's repeated their success from last year by winning
Gold at the OLA Provincials for the 2nd year in a row. After
a slow start with a loss to Wallaceburg 8 to 2, and a 5
to 5 tie with Six Nations, the Pee Wee 2's turned it around
in their 3rd game of the round robin, crushing Brantford
11 to 2 allowing them to advance to the quarter finals.
The quarter finals saw Brampton up against Orangeville
with whom they had a 1 and 1 record during regular season.
A determined Brampton team defeated Orangeville 8 to 7.
The semis saw Brampton come up against Cornwall, who had
defeated them in the Caledon tournament by a score of 10
to 5. Brampton exacted their revenge by defeating Cornwall
7 to 5 advancing them to the finals.
The opponents in the finals was Sudbury, who the Pee Wee
2's previously met in the Huntsville tournament drawing
a 6 to 6 tie. The Brampton Pee Wee 2's came out strong and
handled Sudbury easily with an 8 to 2 victory. The Provincial
Gold win ended the Pee Wee 2 Excelsior's season with a record
of 21-3-3.
With their success at Novice 1 and Pee Wee 2 earning them
back to back Gold at the Provincials, it is a very good
bet that members of this team will be competing at the A
level next year as Pee Wee 1's. With the Pee Wee A Provincials
hosted by the Brampton Minor Lacrosse Association during
the weekend of August 14th to 16th, 2009, the boys can go
and watch the level of competition at the Pee Wee A level.
